Arts In A Time Of Chaos

Hey there Reader!

In such a chaotic time, it's still good to be an artist. Check out some of these ideas in this week's newsletter:

  • Free online course: Releasing Artists to Renew Culture. The good folks over at Sputnik Faith and Arts have released this free online course. If you are a church leader with an arts interest, check out this course.
  • Painting wisdom. "Don't paint the apple. Don't paint the cow. Paint shapes that look like an apple or a cow." Here is one of my favorite watercolor painters, Joseph Zbukvic, with a few nuggets of painting wisdom.
  • Recording grandparents oral stories. I've been sharing a lot recently about orality. If you're like me, you're trying to collect stories from your parents to keep as a legacy. Remento has a solution to help collect, record, and curate those stories from our beloved parents. Check out what they offer here.
  • Why read and write while the world burns? Amidst a chaotic day we live in, consider how Lewis, Orwell, and and Huxley encountered their day with artistic expression.
  • Celebrating 11 years of album release. This month, my friend Joel and I celebrate 11 years of the release of our album, "Against the Grain." It's a marvel to me how God brought this album into existence!
